The actor Peter Falk has died at the age of 83. He appeared in a number of John Cassavetes films (including 1970’s Husbands) as well as Wim Wenders’ Wings of Desire, but was best known for playing shambolic yet persistent detective Lieutenant Columbo. Here’s a great clip of Falk going head to head with Permanent Plastic Helmet favourite Rip Torn in Columbo, which was the best example I could find of his famed “just one more thing” trick.
