I was hoping that I’d be able to put the snark away. Leave it behind me. File it under 2009. Be positive. But I’ve just seen two minutes of Be Cool, the 2005 follow-up to the pretty-damn-satisfying thriller Get Shorty, and the two minutes I watched just so happened to feature the worst two minutes of acting I think I’ve ever seen in my life.
Vince Vaughan at his absolute worst. I haven’t seen acting this unconvincing since Arthur Fowler’s nervous breakdown on Eastenders, which was made even less palatable (yet more acutely hilarious) by an interview, in which the actor Bill Treacher spoke, with a straight face, of the trembling passions which couldn’t help but burst though the surface in his performance.
After a cursory search, I could only find footage edited by some wag into a mock-up of a ringtone. Still, its better than nothing…
